If you weren’t already aware I’m a bit of a hoarder. Especially when it comes to fashion related items such as shoes, clothes, bags and well you name it. I’ve been wanting to put together a Summer look book for quite a while now, with all of my favourite looks this season.
I’ve tried to link items as similar to the original items, but a fair few of them are from past seasons or Primark and sadly they don’t have an online store and I highly doubt they ever will. Anywaaayyy I seem to be going off on a tangent once again. I’ve also never really been a girly girl in the past (or even now) so some of these summer outfits surprised me and may surprise you too. Enough of my rambling, let’s get down to the outfits shall we?
Outfit one: The multipurpose one
This is an outfit which I threw together. It was shoot day and I’d run out of outfit ideas and these items just seemed to go well together… The top was a steal in the Zara sale I got for £9.99 rather than £30 so I can’t complain. The polka dots were what really caught my attention and the pleated detailing on the front of the blouse too. It was just a bonus that the neckline is very flattering and the sleeves aren’t too long!
The skirt was a Primark find last Autumn, but I have no doubt that Primark will bring back something similar this year as pleated skirts are flattering for all ages! This one set me back £13 and has definitely had its wear over the last year.
Oh and the shoes, yes those were from Primark too! Super comfy, cost me £10 and they haven’t given me blisters either. I believe these are still in store now but I’d grab them quick before they sell out. I’ve had these heels almost a year and they are still going strong. I often wear them for nights out and to work and wish I’d have bought the Khaki pair too when those were in store last year…

Outfit two: The wrap dress
Of course it doesn’t have to be Blue or covered in polka dots, but this style of the dress I’m just in love with. The wrap dress is perfect and oh so flattering for all body shapes and sizes! This is sadly the only wrap dress I own and was a Primark bargain (I’m pretty sure it was under £10).
This type of dress is not only great for going out but it’s so versatile and can be worn for any occasion. Personally I pair this dress with trainers and one of my many straw bags because I like to get as much use out of an item as possible. Plus trainers are comfortable and can easily dress down anything for the more casual look.
If you’re not feeling casual why not add a pair of heels or sandals to make the whole look a bit more dressy? Or how about a plain wrap dress or a bold one with big prints to really stand out?

Outfit three: The versatile one
I can’t begin to count the amount of times I’ve worn this outfit, let alone this skirt. I’m a bit stingy when it comes to buying items. Especially if I’m not sure I’ll get a lot of wear out of the items… Over the past few months this skirt has become my go-to piece of clothing (so much so I’m surprised it’s still intact).
In the summer I really love to wear cami tops as much as possible as they are light, airy and come in such a variety of options. This one is my current favourite (I have it in Mustard Yellow too) as it has a scalloped edge which is the perfect subtle detail in my eyes. This was from the Topshop Summer collection and was £16.
This polka dot skirt joined my collection at that point in time where I fell in love with polka dots (if you can’t tell I’ve got a bit of an obsession). A PR even emailed me once to say that they’d noticed my love for them… A midi skirt is one of those items that’s really easy to wear and can be mixed and matched in all seasons especially one full of colour like this one. Again this item was purchased from Topshop and was £36 new in store, had I have been patient I could have saved money on it, however I loved it too much and paid full price.
Outfit four: The Pink one
If you know me then you’ll be aware that I’m a lover of Pink. For quite some time I only wore items in Black or plain colours because I didn’t like to stand out (you can read about this here). This look fulfills ALL of my girly dreams, what more do you want than a pretty beaded straw bag, barely there Black heels and a floaty polka dot Pink dress?!
I came across this dress in my local Primark when I popped in for a browse. I told myself I wouldn’t buy anything but the store had just moved nearer to my home and I had to see what it was like. I just so happened to stumble across this dress and that was that for £13 I couldn’t say no (when do I ever say no?). It’s lightweight and perfect for the Summer days but come Autumn/ Winter you’ll find me styling this dress with a t-shirt or polo neck underneath.
The bag was another Zara find which was one of many straw bags in my ever-growing straw bag collection. A pal pretty much forced me into buying this as I’d been searching for it for months and it was just my luck that it came back in stock…

Outfit five: The long one
Ever since I saw this skirt on a pal (the same one that made me buy the Zara bag) I couldn’t stop obsessing over this H&M maxi skirt. I’m not sure if it was the polka dots that drew me to it or the fact that it is long and I could imagine hiding under it.
I picked up this skirt in H&M’s Summer sale for £12.99 which is fab as it should have been £30. I had to size up as H&M sizes are a bit odd, as we all know… This is one of those skirts that I can imagine wearing with literally everything. When I say everything I mean it.
A strappy top seemed like the perfect item to finish off this outfit as it’s Summer and no-one wants to be wearing long sleeves if they can avoid it. Come Autumn/ Winter you’ll find me wearing this skirt with polo necks and knitwear to make the most of this skirt. It’s so beautiful it would be rude not to right?
Yes, those are trainers under the skirt. I have no shame, comfort is key and always will be.

So that’s it, my Summer polka dot themed lookbook, trust me when I say it’s accidental I had no idea I owned so many polka dot items.
