The product that transformed my hair from ‘straw to silk’ – Lee Stafford CoCo LoCo Review

Don’t get me wrong, we all love a product that promises to make our hair smell amazing and go from ‘straw to silk’ as CoCo LoCo does. But don’t they all? I was super excited when I was gifted the CoCo LoCo Shampoo and conditioner by Lee Stafford as that was one thing from the collection that I always wanted to try but just never got round to.

With my crazy curly hair I couldn’t wait to get started and see how great the products really were, especially as my hair is very prone to frizz and can be a little on the dry side too. CoCo LoCo is enriched with Coconut Oil, Silk protein and Keratin to help restore and replenish hair and make it healthy again.

Did you know that you are meant to shampoo your hair twice? Yep that’s right twice, and do you know why that is? Shampoo one is to remove any residue or build up on the hair and scalp and shampoo two is to get that really deep clean! Just a thing I learnt whilst studying hairdressing that I thought I’d share with you all.facetune_19-02-2018-17-32-51

So what did I think of CoCo LoCo?

Having never tried CoCo LoCo before I unsure of whether I’d fall in love at first lather (see what I did there?). However I was pretty satisfied with the shampoo from the first use, it lathered up really well – I don’t tend to get on with shampoos that don’t lather as I don’t tend to feel clean after using them. Plus after my two shampoos it left my hair with that squeaky clean feeling, this is when I know that my hair is at its cleanest, no oil or build up! I love that CoCo LoCo is enriched with coconut oil so you don’t need to do a coconut oil mask and then have the effort of washing your hair three or four times after (because I can never get the stuff out).

Now for the conditioner, again I wasn’t not too sure how I’d get on with this as my hair is very curly and heavy conditioners tend to weigh my hair down and make it look limp (which I try to avoid at all costs). So I put this one to the test by using the same amount of conditioner that I use when using any other brand and working it through my ends and then whatever was left I worked through the lengths of my hair. I always avoid the roots as that tends to make my hair greasy, not the look I tend to go for… I left this on for a few minutes so my hair could get the full benefit whilst tending to my other shower needs (multitasking at its finest eh?). After rinsing out the product I detangled, towel dried and added a little bit of my favourite curl helper, I then left my hair to dry naturally.

This is my natural hair happy after using CoCo LoCo

Annnnnd finally was my hair super soft and smelling simply edible as promised? Or was it kinda icky and weighed down by the products? I can happily report that it was the earlier of the two, after letting my hair air dry it was full of life, moisture and smelled simply delicious. My curls were as curly as ever and were left feeling incredibly soft too.

I can’t wait to use this going forward and in preparation for my holiday in June, I’m hoping that by keeping it happy and healthy it will grow a little in time for the holiday because damaged hair is not the look anyone desires (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong).

The shampoo and conditioner are just two products from the CoCo LoCo range, with products ranging from masks to oils, sprays and more… make sure to visit LEE STAFFORD to find out more.
