Todays post is on concealers, like most girls I know I love to have a selection of makeup and seem to spend too much money trying out different ones. I’ve written this post to help you choose as I’ve tested the products (and spent the money).
RIMMEL – Hide the blemish stick – IVORY – RRP (around) £3
My rating: **
This one is a lipstick type application, it’s affordable and comes in various shades. The the coverage is medium and it has a bit of a dry chalky texture so I find it difficult to blend so it doesn’t give a natural look.
MUA Cover and conceal – MEDUIM – FAIR – RRP £1.50
My rating: ***
I like this one because it has a lipgloss style applicator so you don’t need a brush or tool to apply the concealer onto your skin. This one comes in various shades, I bought it in a light shade because i have fair skin and so I can brighten my under-eye area with it. I think it’s a lot creamier than the RIMMEL concealer and blends in so much easier.
CLARINS – INSTANT CONCEALER – 002 – RRP £22
My rating: *****
First of all I must say I really like CLARINS packaging, it is simple, elegant and before you but the product you know it is of a high quality. I got this one in a darker shade than usual because in summer when I’m not so fair I still like to cover any blemishes and with the creamy feel of this concealer and the colour it is prefect for doing just that. It is a squeeze tube application but the good thing about this is you can always cut it open when you are almost out, meaning you can make the most of the product because who likes waste anyway?
MAC – PRO LONGWEAR – NC15 – RRP £18
My rating: ***
I bought this in NC15 as that was the shade of foundation the MAC specialists matched me with last time I went in store. I placed an order online as it’s just SO much easier than going into the city, in hindsight I wish I had ventured in store to buy because I should have got a shade lighter.
I’m a fan of the bottle design, it’s easy to clean and allows you to get just the right amount out to minimize waste. If you’re looking for medium coverage then this is a good concealer for you, however when I’m concealing I really like to make sure what I’m trying to cover can’t be seen. I’ll use this one until it’s empty but probably wouldn’t but again as the coverage isn’t what I expected and I got the wrong shade .
MUA – PRO-BASE PRIME AND CONCEAL COLOUR CORRECTION – YELLOW – RRP £2
My rating: ****
I bought this one as I have liked their concealers in the past this one I bought particularly to try and cover dark under-eye circles, for those nights where beauty sleep just isn’t enough! It’s easy to apply, reasonably priced and does help to cover dark circles, this one is mainly marketed as a colour correction product but conceals also, meaning you get the best of both worlds.
RIMMEL – LASTING FINISH CONCEALER – IVORY 020 – RRP (around) £4
My rating: *****
This concealer is my absolute favourite (it’s is truly a lifesaver) I came across this one when reading one of my favourite bloggers most recent posts, her makeup always looks incredible so I just had to buy it. I searched around to see where I could buy it and found it on ASOS for £3.85! Which was so cheap I couldn’t believe it so I made an order I have premier delivery so it came the next day, even then i felt like i waited too long for it to arrive. It’s a cream texture so can be applied with fingers or tools and it blends in so well that you don’t feel like you’re wearing makeup, plus the coverage is amazing. and lasts throughout the day meaning no reapplication needed. All of this considered it is my new favourite concealer.

Hope you enjoyed my post, any thoughts and comments are welcome I’d love to know whether you’ve used any of these products or if there are others you prefer.
